I only have a little time before I leave town for the marquetry class tomorrow, but I wanted to start on a couple of new projects in the shop today. I threw together some plans for the power strip I designed, I’ll see if I have enough scraps to make one or two of these.
There are some details I want to adjust still, and I don’t have the materials for the inlay, but what the heck?
Are you going to Pat Edwards American School of French Marquetry? If so you are going to love it. I have been out there 3 times and I love it.
Cheers,
Freddy Roman
yes, I’m taking the stage 1 boulle class next week. Really looking forward to it.
I almost forgot about your class. Excited to hear about what you learn. I’m even more excited to see what you will be able to do with that new knowledge and skill.
Enjoy and soak in all that you can.
Greg
I hope you keep us updated on your class. Enjoy yourself and absorb as much knowledge as you can.
I think I see a couple of xmas presents with this design.
Me too – the scrap I cut up gave me enough to do three boxes — assuming I don’t ruin one somewhere along the line. I have a good friend with a 70th birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, I’d really like to have one for him. I guess I’d better order the inlay materials, brass plate and cloth covered wire to complete these…
I am continually blown away by your amazing skill, talent and creativity. Thank you for sharing! You are truly a gift to learning woodworkers.
The leviton T5630 is rated for USB 3.0 but I couldn’t find it in black.
I got mine on Amazon, free 2 day shipping 😄
